How the Goods Score works
For each store we blend the demographics of every census tract within about three miles — weighted by population and distance — then score four signals of local affluence:
Median home value
40% weightHigher property values signal more disposable income — and better cast-offs.
Median income
35% weightWealthier households donate higher-quality goods more often.
College-educated
15% weightEducation correlates with brand-name and well-kept donations.
Median rent
10% weightCaptures affluence in renter-heavy areas home value misses.
